What exactly is a skill?

A skill is a reusable module of domain expertise. Technically, it adds a block of prompt context to an agent's system prompt when enabled, teaching the agent frameworks, templates, checklists, and best practices for that domain. Skills don't add tools; they add knowledge.

How do skills differ from agent roles or instructions?

A role defines who the agent is (Project Manager, Account Manager). Instructions give it specific guidance for your business. Skills add portable domain expertise layered on top. One agent can have multiple skills enabled, and one skill can power multiple agents.

Can I create custom skills?

Yes. Create a custom skill from the skills library UI, or fork a predefined one and override its prompt context. Your custom skills live in your workspace and are available to every agent.

What does "skill override" mean?
