For/LAW FIRMS

Matter management, time capture, and client comms on one platform.

The firm-side layer for small and boutique practices. CRM, matters, time, and invoicing with AI agents for the repeatable parts. Works alongside your existing accounting and trust systems.

Helm is an AI work platform for small and boutique law firms. Manage clients, matters (as projects), time entries, documents, and invoicing on one system, with AI agents handling recurring client communications, billable-hour discipline, and payment follow-up. Helm handles the firm-side operations; trust accounting and compliance-sensitive accounting stay in your existing systems.

Why law firms run on Helm

The friction we remove.

Billable hours slip when capture is friction-heavy.

Timer and manual time entry with agent-assisted gap detection at end of week. The Operations Manager agent can flag days with suspiciously low billable capture and prompt for the missing entries, before the invoice goes out with an undercount.

Matters need a workspace, not a folder.

Each matter is a project with its own scope, team, time entries, documents, and billing. Full history attached to the client account, across matters and across years. Opening a new matter for a returning client starts with the relationship context already in place.

Client intake shouldn't be chaos.

Forms for intake, Workflows to triage and route, Account Manager agents to acknowledge and set expectations. Inbound leads stop falling through the cracks between a website form and the partner who should be talking to them.

Client communication is the billable invisible work.

Email attached to matters. Meeting notes attached to matters. Document versions attached to matters. When a matter gets reopened two years later, the full comms history is still there, not scattered across an inbox that moved on.

Pricing

Per-workspace pricing. No per-seat tax.

Helm is priced per workspace, not per seat. When your AI staff help a smaller team do the work of a bigger one, your bill doesn't go up for being lean. All 12 apps are included on every plan.

FAQ

Questions from law firms.

Does Helm handle trust accounting or IOLTA compliance?

No. Trust accounting and IOLTA are regulated and belong in specialized software. Helm is the firm-side operations layer: clients, matters, time, documents, and invoicing. For trust compliance, keep your specialized tool and use Helm for everything else.

Can I use "matters" instead of "projects"?

Projects are customizable. Rename the entity and its fields to match your firm's terminology. "Matters" is a common rename for legal workspaces.

What about conflict checks?

Helm's CRM lets you search across accounts, contacts, and past matters to surface conflicts. A formal conflict-check workflow can be built using Forms + Workflows; dedicated conflict-management tools remain separate if your firm uses one.

How does Helm handle confidentiality between matters?

Role-based access per team member, per account, per project. Agent memory is scoped to what the agent has access to. You can build matter-level isolation with the team and role tools.

Is Helm HIPAA-compliant?

Helm runs on Supabase with row-level security and SOC 2 Type II alignment on the infrastructure side. HIPAA-specific compliance (BAAs, audit trails) is on the roadmap for regulated verticals; talk to us if you need it for a specific engagement.
