Slack

Collaborate with your team and agents in Slack

The Slack integration connects your workspace to a Slack team. Agents can post to channels, DM members, and respond to @mentions. Members can run Helm slash commands from anywhere in Slack.

Setup

1. Go to Settings → Integrations → Slack
2. Click Connect and authorize the Helm Slack app
3. Link your Slack user to your Helm account for DMs and mentions

Channel Agents

Run /helm invite "Agent Name" "Project Name" in a channel to add an agent. The agent listens for @mentions in that channel, scoped to the project you chose.

DMs

Designate one agent as the DM agent per workspace. DMs to the Helm bot route to that agent. The DM agent has full workspace context and can message teammates or post to channels on your behalf.

Slash Commands

• /helm tasks - Your open tasks
• /helm time - Start or stop a timer
• /helm agents - List agents in this channel
• /helm invite - Add an agent to the channel
• /helm remove - Remove an agent from the channel

Private Channels

For private channels, a workspace member with access must add the Helm app manually. Public channels auto-join on first post.
