Give engineering agents read and write repo access

Install the Helm GitHub App to connect repositories. Agents can read code, open issues, review pull requests, and (with write access) commit changes.

Setup

1. Go to Settings → Integrations → GitHub
2. Click Install and pick the organization or user
3. Select the repositories Helm can access

What Agents Can Do

• Read - Files, commits, issues, PRs, reviews
• Issues & PRs - Open, comment, close
• Commits - Push changes (if read_write is granted)
• Webhooks - Trigger workflows on PR or issue events

Scoping

Install on specific repos, not your whole org, unless you really want every repo accessible. Agent permissions narrow it further within the app.
